Tier 5

Tier 5 (Temporary Worker – Charity Worker) visa:

According to Home Office guidelines the following information should be consider to assess your case:-

Eligibility:-

  • You are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland
  • you want to do unpaid voluntary work for a charity
  • provide CAS (Certificate of Sponsorship)
  • show £945 in savings – this is to prove you can support yourself and you must have had this in your bank account for 90 days before you apply

Visa Duration:-

You can get visa for up to 12 months

Extension:-

You can extend your visa under this category

Tier 5 (Temporary Worker – Government Authorised Exchange) visa:

According to Home Office guidelines the following information should be consider to assess your case:-

Eligibility:-

  • You are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland
  • want to come to the UK for a short time for work experience or to do training, an Overseas Government Language Programme, research or a fellowship through an approved government authorised exchange scheme
  • have a sponsor who is running approved exchange scheme (Either an organisation, Higher Education Institute or Government Department/agency)
  • provide CAS (Certificate of Sponsorship)
  • show £945 in savings – this is to prove you can support yourself and you must have had this in your bank account for 90 days before you apply

You won’t need £945 in savings if your fully approved (‘A-rated’)sponsor has stated on your certificate of sponsorship that they’ll certify your maintenance and that you won’t claim benefits during your stay.

Visa Duration:-

You can stay in the UK for up to 12 or 24 months (depending on the scheme you’re applying for) or the time given on your certificate of sponsorship plus 28 days, whichever is shorter.

Extension:-

You can apply to extend your Tier 5 (Temporary worker – Government Authorised Exchange) visa.

  • 12 months, if you’re doing work experience
  • 24 months, if you’re doing research, training or an Overseas Government Language Programme

Switching your Visa:

You can apply to switch to a Tier 5 (Temporary Worker – Government Authorised Exchange) visa from one of the following category:-

  • student, whether studying, re-sitting an examination or writing a thesis
  • student union sabbatical officer
  • student nurse
  • postgraduate doctor or dentist
  • Tier 4 visa
  • sponsored researcher who came to the UK on a work permit and you want to continue in the same job with your sponsor.

Tier 5 (Temporary Worker – International Agreement) visa:

According to Home Office guidelines the following information should be consider to assess your case:-

Eligibility:-

  • You are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland
  • You will  be contracted to do work covered by international law while in the UK, for example working for a foreign government or as a private servant in a diplomatic household
  • provide CAS (Certificate of Sponsorship)
  • show £945 in savings – this is to prove you can support yourself and you must have had this in your bank account for 90 days before you apply

You won’t need £945 in savings if your fully approved (‘A-rated’)sponsor has stated on your certificate of sponsorship that they’ll certify your maintenance and that you won’t claim benefits during your stay.

Visa Duration:-

In most cases you can stay for 2 years, or the time given on your certificate of sponsorship.

You may be asked to leave the UK within 60 days if your job finishes early. It’s unlikely you’ll have to leave if your visa has less than 60 days remaining.

Extension:-

You can apply to extend your visa for up to 2 years at a time up to a total maximum stay of 6 years.

Exemptions:

  1. you are a private servant in a diplomatic household and applied for your visa on or after 5 April 2012 – your total maximum stay can only be 5 years or until the last date of your employer’s posting, whichever is shorter
  2. you are a contractual service supplier or independent professional – you can only stay in the . UK for a maximum of 6 months in any 12 month period

Switching your Visa:

You can apply to switch into a Tier 5 (Temporary Worker – International Agreement) visa while you are in the UK if you want to continue working for your current employer and you have a work permit /you are work for an overseas government or international organisation.

Tier 5 (Temporary Worker – Religious Worker):

According to Home Office guidelines the following information should be consider to assess your case:-

Eligibility:-

  • You are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland
  • you want to do religious work – eg preaching or working in a religious order
  • provide CAS (Certificate of Sponsorship)
  • show £945 in savings – this is to prove you can support yourself and you must have had this in your bank account for 90 days before you apply

Visa Duration:-

You can get visa for up to 24 months

Extension:-

You can extend your visa under this category.

Tier 5 (Temporary Worker –Creative and sporting):

According to Home Office guidelines the following information should be consider to assess your case:-

Eligibility:-

  • You are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland
  • You are creative worker, eg an actor, dancer, musician or film crew member or you are sports person who makes significant contribution to his sport
  • provide CAS (Certificate of Sponsorship)
  • show £945 in savings – this is to prove you can support yourself and you must have had this in your bank account for 90 days before you apply

You won’t need £945 in savings if your fully approved (‘A-rated’)sponsor has stated on your certificate of sponsorship that they’ll certify your maintenance and that you won’t claim benefits during your stay.

Visa Duration:-

Up to 12 months

Extension:-

  • Creative worker-can extend you visa for another 12 months. Maximum extension could be upto 24 months.
  • A sports person can extend visa up to 12 months only.

Tier 5 (Youth Mobility Scheme): 

According to Home Office guidelines the following information should be consider to assess your case:-

Eligibility:-

  • You are between 18 and 30
  • You are from :-

Australia

Canada

Japan

Monaco

New Zealand

Hong Kong

Republic of Korea

Taiwan

Or you are:-

British overseas citizen

British overseas territories citizen

British national (overseas)

  • show £1,890 in savings – this is to prove you can support yourself and you must have had this in your bank account for 90 days before you apply
  • if you are from Taiwan, Hong Kong or Republic of Korea you must provide Certificate of sponsorship

Visa Duration:-

You can get visa for up to 2 years.

Extension:-

You cannot extend your visa under this category.
