Tier 2 (Minister of Religion):
According to Home Office guidelines the following information should be consider to assess your case:-
Eligibility:-
You can apply for a Tier 2 (Minister of Religion) visa if:
- your overseas employer has offered you a role in a UK branch of the organisation and you are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland
- you have a certificate of sponsorship from your employer before you can apply to come to the UK to work.
- to meet the English language requirement
- You must also have £945 in savings – this is to prove you can support yourself. You must have had this in your bank account for 90 days before you apply, unless you’re exempt.
Savings exemption
You won’t need to provide proof of funds if you’re in the UK and you have a visa in one of the following categories:
- Tier 2
- work permit holder
- Jewish agency employee
- ground staff for an overseas airline
- minister of religion, missionary, or member of a religious order
- representative an overseas newspaper, news agency or broadcasting organisation
- You won’t need £945 in savings if your fully approved (‘A-rated’)sponsor has stated on your certificate of sponsorship that they’ll certify your maintenance and that you won’t claim benefits during your stay.
The work you do in the UK must relate to the work of your sponsor organisation.
Visa Duration:-
You can come to the UK with a Tier 2 (Minister of Religion) visa for a maximum of up to 3 years and 1 month, or the time given on your certificate of sponsorship plus 1 month, whichever is shorter.
Tier 2 (Sportsperson):
According to Home Office guidelines the following information should be consider to assess your case:-
Eligibility:
You can apply for a Tier 2 (Sportsperson) visa if all of the following apply:
- you’re an elite sportsperson or qualified coach recognised by your sport’s governing body as internationally established at the highest level
- your sport’s governing body is endorsing your application
- your employment will develop your sport in the UK at the highest level
- you’re from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland
- have a certificate of sponsorship reference number from your sponsor
- meet the English requirement
- You must also have £945 in savings – this is to prove you can support yourself. You must have had this in your bank account for 90 days before you apply, unless you’re exempt.

- 12 months have passed and your previous certificate of sponsorship was granted for less than 3 months
- you can show you’ll be paid a gross annual salary of £155,300 or more
How long you can stay:
You can apply to extend your stay in the UK with a Tier 2 (Sportsperson) visa for up to 3 years and 14 days.
You must leave the UK after this and can only apply for this visa again if either 12 months have passed and your previous certificate of sponsorship was granted for less than 3 months or you can show you’ll be paid a gross annual salary of £155,300 or more.
Tier 2 (General):
According to Home Office guidelines the following information should be consider to assess your case:-
Eligibility:
You can apply for a Tier 2 (General) visa if you’ve been offered a skilled job in the UK and you are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.
Before you apply you must get Sponsorship Certificate Number. This number holds information about the job and your personal details. It’s not an actual certificate or paper document .Your sponsor will give you your certificate of sponsorship reference number.
Other requirement:-
- The job you’re offered must pay £20,800 or more, unless your current or last permission to stay in the UK is as:
- a Tier 2 (General) migrant before 6 April 2011
- a Jewish agency employee
- operational ground staff of an overseas-owned airline
- a minister of religion, missionary or member of a religious order
- a representative of an overseas newspaper, news agency or broadcasting organisation
- a work permit holder
- an unregistered nurse but your salary will be at least £16,271 while you’re doing your supervised practice or £21,478 after you have Nursing and Midwifery Council registration – and you’ll still be sponsored as a nurse by the same sponsor after you’re registered
- the required level of English
Visa Duration:
You can come to the UK with a Tier 2 (General) visa for a maximum of 5 years and 14 days, or the time given on your certificate of sponsorship plus 1 month, whichever is shorter.
Your stay must start no more than 14 days before the start date on your certificate of sponsorship.
You can apply to extend this visa for up to another 5 years, as long as your total stay is not more than 6 years.
Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer):
According to Home Office guidelines the following information should be consider to assess your case:-
Eligibility:
You can apply for a Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) visa if:
- your overseas employer has offered you a role in a UK branch of the organisation and you are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland
- you have a certificate of sponsorship from your employer before you can apply to come to the UK to work.
- an ‘appropriate’ salary- You’ll need to earn one of the following:
- Long-term Staff applicants – at least £41,500 or the ‘appropriate rate’ for the role (whichever is higher)
- Short-term Staff, Graduate Trainee or Skills Transfer applicants – at least £24,800 or the ‘appropriate rate’ (whichever is higher)
- staff already in the UK on a Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) visa or work permit issued before 6 April 2011 – at least the ‘appropriate rate’(Appropriate rates vary by sector. You can check the appropriate rate for your role in the ‘Codes of practice’).
- £945 in savings – this is to prove you can support yourself and you must have had this in your bank account for 90 days before you apply
You don’t need to have £945 in savings if your sponsor is fully approved (‘A-rated) and they can certify that they’ll support and accommodate you for the first month you’re employed .
The work you do in the UK must relate to the work of your sponsor organisation.
Types of Intra-company Transfer visas
1-Long-term Staff
This visa is for transfers of more than 12 months into a role that can’t be filled by a new UK recruit. You need to have worked for your employer overseas for at least 12 months.
2-Short-term Staff
This visa is for transfers up to and including 12 months into a role that can’t be filled by a new UK recruit. You need to have worked for your employer overseas for at least 12 months.
3-Graduate Trainee
This visa is for transfers into graduate trainee programmes for specialist roles. You need to be a recent graduate with at least 3 months’ experience with your employer overseas.
4-Skills Transfer
This visa is for transfers that allow people to gain skills and knowledge needed to perform their role overseas, or to pass on their skills to UK colleagues. You don’t need to have been with your employer overseas for a set period of time.
Visa Duration
You can come to the UK with a Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) visa for up to the maximum stay allowed for your visa type, or the time given on your certificate of sponsorship plus one month, whichever is shorter.
The maximum stay for each type of Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) visa is:
- Long-term Staff (if you earn more than £155,300 per year): 9 years
- Long-term Staff (if you earn less than £155,300 per year): 5 years, 1 month
- Graduate Trainee: 12 months
- Short-term Staff: 12 months
- Skills Transfer: 6 months
Your stay must start no more than 14 days before the start date on your certificate of sponsorship.
You can apply to extend your stay in the UK for the maximum time allowed for your visa type.
